Puppy School

At Puppy School your puppy will make new friends and socialise with other puppies in a safe environment. At Take a Lead we will show you how to teach your puppy general obedience skills like; sit, stay, drop, stay, come when called, the leave it command, on your bed command and walking on lead. Puppy school is for puppies from 8-16 weeks of age.

What will you and your puppy learn:

Week 1
Theory Class
Topics covered: Building puppy (and owner) confidence, reading puppy body language, socialisation, toilet training, nipping & biting, teaching sit and leave it.
Week 2
Practical Class
Topics covered: Revision of week one and troubleshooting. Teach come, advance the leave it command, lie down, socialisation to noises and explain how important handling is.
Week 3
Practical Class
Focus on come when called, increase distraction, stay command, drop command discuss how to prevent food or possession guarding, start to talk about fading treats.
Week 4
Graduation
Discuss any questions you might have, practice stay command, teach puppies to go to their bed and solidify the concept of when to fade treats, presentation of graduation certificate & class photo.

Cost for the 4 week puppy school course is $280.
Please note classes run for 1 hours each lesson.
