Take a Lead Farm Trips

This action-packed day includes treasure hunting, agility courses and obstacle challenges.

Your pooch will come home happy and exhausted!

About Our Farm

This puppy paradise is located a 90 min drive from our Rose Bay location.

This is a privately owned property that is set up to be the backdrop for the perfect doggy day trip.

The facility includes a covered 140 square metre sand arena. So Rain, Hail or Shine the dogs get to have fun!

The Take A Lead Farm bus will chauffeur your dog to the farm for the day and have it home before dinner.

WHY BOOK A TRIP TO THE FARM?

This is a training opportunity as well as an exciting adventure.

Your dog will:

  • Learn to use its nose on our Sniff Safari playground
  • Build confidence by going through obstacle courses
  • Develop herding skills (we use a dog-specific ‘Treibball’ and they LOVE it)
  • Practise agility in the purpose-built sand arena
  • Play tug with our special spring pole
  • Socialise
  • Play and run (and run and run and run…)

Break up the routine of daycare and lonely days at home for your pet and watch them become more relaxed and confident.

Tailored Activities

All activities are selected to suit your dog and its needs. Every attraction at the farm keeps the brain engaged and the heart pumping.

Sniff Safari

Sniff Safari

Enriching and energy-intensive

Sniffing is a dog’s primary means of collecting information about the world around them. Detecting and processing smells is a good way to destress and it creates powerful positive associations with the surroundings.

At the farm, your dog will play tail-waggingly exciting treasure hunt games on different surfaces.

Agility

Agility

Great exercise and lots of fun

Agility training is a creative way to get dogs involved with physical and mental exercise. The core moves are jumping, weaving poles, see-saw balancing and tunnel crossing.

This is an athletic challenge that burns excess energy, keeps dogs fit and builds their confidence… and they can’t get enough of it.

Obstacle Course

Obstacle Course

A mental and physical challenge

Jumping into and out of barrels, crawling in and out of small spaces, climbing up ramps and walking over different surfaces are all confidence and resilience building exercises.

Building confidence is a valuable part of raising a well-balanced dog. New experiences can help build confidence and resilience, which makes dogs less stressed when at home or out and about in the community.

Treibball

Treibball

Tap into a core instinct

Treibball is a great sport where your dog chases a massive (and very well reinforced) inflatable ball around and tries to herd it. It is not only a lot of fun, but it helps to build coordination.

Treibball is a positive-reinforcement, competitive dog sport that originated in Germany. Think of it as ‘dog soccer’ but with multiple balls. Herding dogs love this sport because it’s what they are bred for (and there are no pesky sheep to deal with).

FAQs

Is my dog suitable to come?

Your dog loves socialising with other dogs and has never shown any sign of aggression towards dogs or humans and preferably goes to a daycare on a regular basis or attends group walks.

Where is the Take A Lead Farm?

Our farm is on 100 acres in Canyonleigh, which is located in the Southern Highlands, 90 minutes drive away from Sydney.  Unfortunately, pick up and drop off at the farm is not possible due to council restrictions.

Will my dog come home dirty?

Yes, that’s how farm life is. If it rains we will go into the horse arena which is fully covered but sandy so expect your dog to come back tired and dirty and be happily surprised if they come back cleanish.

What if I miss the bus?

To avoid traffic, we need to leave at 8 am sharp. If you miss the bus, you will be charged for the day. We won’t be able to wait if you are running late, as we have other dogs on board.

Will I get updates?

We post stories and videos on our Instagram of their activities and fun throughout the day.

What if I need to call someone while my dog is at the farm

We are busy looking after dogs and have bad mobile reception at the farm. Please email school@takealead.com.au and we will get back to you via WhatsApp on the day,or txt the farm bus phone 0432 296 543

Can I come along?

We know… it really is the best day ever. Unfortunately dogs can get distracted and possessive when their owners are around so we limit the invitation to our four-legged friends only.
